October 2011 - All Charges Dismissed
We are very pleased to announce that on October 5th, 2011, all allegations against Nortak Software were fully and completely dismissed in the Competition Bureau’s bid rigging case. Court decided that there was no basis for the charges against Nortak for the case to proceed to trial.
The past 3 years have been extremely difficult and we very much appreciate the support given to us by clients, friends, and business associates. We would like to thank our legal counsel, Mr. Sean May, for his hard work and a job well done. We would also like to thank our dedicated employees and subcontractors who weathered the storm with us.
As we put this behind us, we look forward to focusing on our business of providing cost-effective services and innovative IT solutions.
February 2009 - Initial Response to Competition Bureau Allegations
On February 19, 2009, two days after the Competition Bureau issued its press release alleging that Nortak Software participated in bid-rigging activities, Nortak Software received a summons outlining the charges. After reviewing this document, we unequivocally deny the charges and intend to fight them in court in order to defend our reputation. We are proud of the work of our employees and of Nortak Software’s high ethical standards. We look forward to proving that the accusations levied at Nortak Software are baseless and completely unfounded.
For about 34 years, Nortak Software has worked in the Ottawa region, employed upwards of 200 resources over that period, hired sub-contractors and provided the Government of Canada with cost-effective services and IT solutions. We will continue to provide our clients with cost-effective services and our employees with a reason to be proud to work at Nortak Software.
